Join Art Club,
Says Club’s Spokescat, SunggleMuffin
The NCHS Art Club official
press liaison, Mr. Ward's cat
( named SnuggleMuffin ),
wrote in a prepared
statement: “Art Club
‘clubbers’ who start singing
while art clubbing are so
cute, oh my goodness.”
Pressed for further detail on
this topic, SnuggleMuffin
changed the subject and
indicated that Mr. Ward
should pick up some more
cat food at the store on the
way home.
SnuggleMuffin’s prepared
statement further said that
neither Taylor Swift nor
Princess Kate are Art Club
members at this time
and it would be nice if
whoever is fanning those
rumors would cut it out.
The Art Club named its 2024
officers. Co-Emperors are
Andy Sutherland-Wallace and
Hailey Cash. Cash was raised
to Emperor Augusta and also
carries additional titles of DJ and
Centaur Wrangler. Should any
centaurs appear, it would be
Cash’s responsibility to wrangle
them. Cash’s Yeti brand water
bottle was declared honorary
proconsul. The club charges no
fees, so there is no club
treasurer.
Art Club mascots include, 1.)
Stencil Trogdor (created by
Naomi Bartley in tribute to the
famed 2000s StrongBad
/ HomeStar Runner character,
Trogdor “The Burninator”) and
2.) Gar-clops (Logan
Shepard’s stuffed toy Garfield
who someone knocked the eyes
off of and who was somewhat
restored [after Logan found just
one of the eyes] by Hailey Cash
[using the hot glue] and Abbey
Hobbs [paint-detailing on the
eye]).
A popular Art Club
activity is the sketchbook
contest, in which those who
sketch at home bring in a
favorite picture and place them
on a table for judging. The
clubbers vote for their favorite
sketches by placing a “ballot”
(in the form of a glass blob) on
their choice. The sketch with the
most blobs on it wins. The prize
is usually a “won” dollar bill –a
modified but usable $1 bill.
