To Be Alone (Feona Hudson, poem)
To Be Alone
To be alone is not to be lonely,
though it may seem that way.
To be alone is not to be lonely, but
instead to be independent.
It’s to be all by your lonesome,
To enjoy company, want it even,
but never to need it.
To be alone is not to be lonely,
but to discover things you never knew.
It’s to enjoy peace, and find yourself
it’s to be curious, and adventurous.
It’s to accept love, not beg for it,
let it come to you.
To be alone is not to be lonely,
it’s to know your worth, and find
comfort in yourself.
To find comfort in being your own friend,
to want, not to need.
To be alone is not be lonely,
It's a hard thing to grasp.
But once you understand, they are
in fact different, you’ll have reached
a new level of happiness.
To be alone is not to be lonely, its to simply be
one with who you’re meant to be.
To reach a level of existing with yourself,
not existing for somebody else.
To be alone is not to be lonely, but instead to be okay.
